Founder & Creative Director Stefana Tabacaru blends nostalgia with a passion for being socially and environmentally responsible and giving back to a global community. Her dream of women wearing her swimsuits and putting forward the best version of themselves. One that can eat, drink, and dance until the sun rises without a moment of feeling self-conscious is at the core of the brand’s DNA. So, she makes that swimsuit for all the women out there, the ones who battle every day against their insecurities, and win. Focused on one piece and high waisted swimsuits made with simple flattering lines, the highest quality sustainable materials, and a Spanx like effect, everything is sourced and produced in America, with a commitment to not using plastic, keeping the brand’s carbon footprint as small as possible, and only using biodegradable packaging. After having studied at Parsons School of Design and having worked at British Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar UK, Moda Operandi, Fivestory, and Emilia Wickstead, Stefana started Tabacaru Swim in 2019 and brought her dreams to life.
